NAPIT Raise Over £10,000 for Ashgate Hospicecare
The NAPIT team have beat their £5,000 target for Ashgate Hospicecare by raising over £10,000 for the charity throughout 2017.
NAPIT have been fundraising for Ashgate Hospicecare throughout the year and initially set a £5,000 target to raise for the charity to boost much-needed funds by participating in a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Scheme to support and fundraise for vital facilities the hospice provides.
Ashgate Hospicecare provides free pain relief and symptom control services to patients with life limiting illnesses, as well as emotional, spiritual and social care support, which is extended to help the patients families during tough times.
The hospice relies mainly on fundraising and donations from the public to keep its services running and to continue helping families locally.
Braving the Pennines in June 2017, the NAPIT team took on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge, a gruelling 24-mile trek over Yorkshire’s three highest peaks, Whernside, Ingleborough, and Pen-y-ghent to raise money for the hospice. Not only that, but the team volunteered at Ashgate’s distribution centre to sift through all the generous donations the NAPIT staff kindly provided to put into Ashgate Hospicecare’s charity shop.
NAPIT also sponsored the out-door Open-Air Cinema event at the hospice and had a stand on the night selling items and holding fundraising games such as guess the name of the bear and how many sweets in the jar.
Continuing the theme of fundraising into 2018, NAPIT will be teaming up with the practical support and financial relief service, Electrical Industries Charity, by taking on some upcoming activities and challenges which are yet to be announced.
In periods of drastic change and/or challenging times The Electrical Industries Charity help to support and benefit employers and employees that work or have worked in the electrical industry.
NAPIT Group Chief Executive Mike Andrews said, "I would like to thank everyone that sponsored NAPIT and helped us raise a remarkable amount of money for Ashgate Hospicecare, which plays such a significant role in our local community. I am also thrilled to continue our fundraising activities by supporting a charity with a closer relationship to our members, The Electrical Industries Charities."
