NAPIT Boost Profile through Education and Awareness in 2015
Through various consumer awareness activities, the NAPIT brand was seen by nearly five million people this year.
Over the last three years, NAPIT has signed sponsorship deals with Chesterfield FC and the Chesterfield Golf Professional, George Woolgar. In 2015, this led to over a million homeowners and tradespeople seeing the NAPIT logo through local and national media as well as live television coverage on BT Sports and Sky Sports.
NAPIT’s local newspaper campaigns have reached over 3.5 million readers nationwide this year, bringing essential electrical safety advice to householders and encouraging the use of competent, registered installers. The double-award winning promotion, inviting over 100 local newspapers across the country to take part, has continuously improved since it began in 2011.
Throughout the course of 2015, not only were NAPIT more visible to householders than ever before, they showcased how the organisation can help support installers with their business activities.
A major focus for NAPIT is to educate installers on Amendment 3 to the 17th Edition Wiring Regulations. Thousands flocked to over 50 free events hosted by NAPIT in conjunction with organisations such as Megger and Schneider Electric. This continued with a record number of electrical installers receiving free help and advice on Amendment 3, with a three-fold increase in attendees to NAPIT EXPO, which took to the road for the first time this summer, travelling to nine different locations in England and Wales.
NAPIT also exhibited at a number of tradeshows, including the ever popular ELEX and Ecobuild events. The shows saw thousands of installers through the doors of various exhibitions over the last twelve months.
Michael Andrews, the NAPIT Group Chief Executive, said: "We work tirelessly to boost the profile of NAPIT and it’s terrific to see this paying off. More people than ever now know who we are and what we do. We look forward to continuing this into 2016 by ensuring that homeowners become increasingly aware of the importance of using competent, registered installers, such as NAPIT members.
The ability to feed back ideas and concerns to Government and key industry organisations is central to our aim to improve the industry in which our members work. Therefore, in 2016 we will also continue to represent the view of our members through the NAPIT Trade Association and active participation in a wide range of external industry forums including the Electrical Safety Roundtable."
