Electrical Contractors Impressed by Technical Line-up at NAPIT EXPO 2017
NAPIT EXPO 2017 impresses electrical contractors in four locations over the UK with an informative technical line-up and exhibition hall packed full of partners.
The free-to-attend events which took place in Bristol, Birmingham, Leeds and London featured two sessions, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, allowing visitors to choose a time that suited them best to attend.
Across the events, hundreds of NAPIT members and installers alike were updated on key topics affecting the electrical industry such as RCD testing and RCD Ramp Testing, presented by Richard Townsend, NAPIT’s Technical Development Engineer, and supported by expert panelists from Megger and Hager. Frank Bertie, NAPIT Group Technical Director, led discussions on the 18th Edition of The Wiring Regulations Draft for Public Comment, with Mark Coles and Gary Willard from The IET contributing their expert insight on the new regulations at some venues.
Guest presenter James Eade informed visitors on temporary electrical installations and presented the vast opportunities available to electrical contractors in the events industry, while Paul Chaffers, NAPIT’s Regional Inspections Manager, led an interactive session on EICR Codebreakers.
Visitors were impressed with the content of the seminars with one saying "the seminars were packed with pragmatic, sensible advice for electrical contractors" and another commented to say, "the interactive briefing on EICR codebreakers was great. Some of the issues raised were real brain teasers".
The exhibition area featured a wide range of products and services from partners Dymo, Schneider Electric, Martindale, Gas-Elec, Surge Protection Devices, Megger, Dimplex, Premier Training Academy and LED Hut. NAPIT’s own services were also present including NAPIT insurance, NAPIT Keep Busy, NAPIT Drive and NAPIT Direct.
Fantastic show offers and prize give-aways were available on the day including a Golden Ticket prize draw where a year’s free NAPIT membership was won by lucky visitors Chris Sharp, Lee Knight, Mark Kettlewell and Borislav Lildv.
The Consumer Unit Competition took place with £800 worth of prizes up for grabs, and a prize draw which contained prizes donated by exhibitors such as Screwfix and Halfords vouchers, prosecco and more making sure most visitors walked away with a prize.
Mike Andrews, Chief Executive of the NAPIT Group, and host of the event said "This year’s EXPO was a must see for anyone in the electrical industry. The technical presentations and expert panelist where second to none, creating healthy debate and discussions across all four sessions. Events like EXPO are vital for our members and the industry in providing a place for likeminded contractors to get together, get updated and learn more about their trade".
