Winter a Great Time to Offer Energy Efficiency Solutions
With Cold Homes Week taking place on 2-6th February and concern over the cost of energy bills continuing to rise, NAPIT is advising installers to offer a variety of solutions for homeowners, including energy efficiency measures, this winter.
Cold Homes Week aims to raise awareness about the issues around fuel poverty and to gain the support of politicians to improve the energy efficiency of UK homes [1]. Therefore NAPIT are calling for installers to offer the most energy efficient solutions possible to homeowners and help end fuel poverty.
According to research from Co-operative Energy [2], nearly half of UK adults are more concerned over their rising energy bills than last year. A symptom of the concern over energy bills is that 41% of those surveyed indicated that they would have to stick to a tight budget in the winter months in order to have enough money for energy bills.
Managing Director of NAPIT Certification, David Cowburn, said: “The current climate seems to suggest that householders are looking into any measures that are proven to combat rising energy bills and save themselves money in the long run. Energy efficiency measures such as insulation make sense with this in mind and installers could place themselves in the ideal position by offering these solutions.”
If you’re looking to install energy efficiency measures, remember that only measures installed by a Green Deal Approved Installer are eligible for Government initiatives such as the Green Deal.
