Festive Fundraising at NAPIT!
NAPIT employees have been spreading Christmas cheer and delving deep into their pockets in the run up to Christmas to raise money for a local charity, John Eastwood Hospice in Mansfield.
All staff attended NAPIT’s Annual Lunch on the 9th of December 2016 to partake in a morning of presentations on NAPIT’s performance throughout the year, and our strategic objectives for 2017. This was followed by networking and a festive lunch. Around 120 employees were in attendance at the event, and NAPIT’s Events and Social Committee saw this as an opportunity to organise a variety of games and raffles to get staff in the Christmas spirit whilst raising money for a worthy cause.
Games included, guess the name of the chocolate mousse, football cards, a chocolate raffle and a ‘What’s in Santa’s Sack?’ raffle. There were some great prizes up for grabs such as Love2shop vouchers, Thornton’s chocolates and great selection of raffle prizes including a 6-person day pass to Center Parcs!
Many of the prizes were donated from local restaurants and attractions, as well as contributions from NAPIT, and a chocolate hamper from Thornton’s. Staff did not leave disappointed as most walked away with some form of prize – even if that was a bag of brussel sprouts!
As well as the Annual Lunch, NAPIT also held a Christmas Jumper day in the office on the 20th of December. Staff made a donation of £2 to John Eastwood Hospice to dress down for the day wearing their wackiest Christmas jumpers! Alan Redford, NAPIT Technical Officer won with a creative rendition on the Christmas jumper, by using a sack with Santa’s face on belted around his waist and teaming it with a Santa hat. His creativity earnt him a large tub of Celebrations.
Overall NAPIT raised a whopping £612.20 for John Eastwood Hospice in Mansfield, a trust who support the NHS in the organisation and delivery of palliative care services for people suffering with cancer and other life threatening diseases.
This couldn’t have been achieved without the generosity of all NAPIT staff who eagerly got involved with the festive activities this year, or without the vast selection of companies in the Nottinghamshire area who kindly donated gifts for our raffle prizes, and ultimately donated to the cause.
From everyone here at NAPIT, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
