The Final Report of the Competence Steering Group for Building a Safer Future, ‘Setting the Bar- A New Competence Regime for Building a Safer Future’ has been published.

NAPIT has launched a new and enhanced insurance and risk management offering for members through NAPIT Insurance. Originally established in 2005, the aim of NAPIT Insurance is to provide members with access to advice that is relevant for their specific line of work and will help them protect their business.

The IET and BSI (British Standards Institution), who co-publish BS 7671, have now issued the Draft for Public Comment (DPC) for Amendment 2, giving the electrical industry the opportunity to read through the proposed changes and provide feedback ahead of publication. The DPC period runs from 21st September to 11th December 2020.

NAPIT welcomes announcement from Government on the Green Homes Grant Scheme (GHGS) which is set to give over 600,000 homeowners in England up to £10,000 to install energy saving measures to help households save money on energy bills.

Following an audit of installations done under the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS), which provides grant funding of up to £350 towards the cost of installing Electric Vehicle (EV) charge points at domestic properties across the UK, the leading certification bodies for the electrical sector have come together to ensure lessons learn from the audit are used proactively to increase trust and confidence in the installation of EV charge points going forward.

NAPIT has welcomed the UK Government’s consultation on the new Clean Heat Grant Scheme (CHGS), which is set to replace the Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) Scheme in time.
