NAPIT is pleased to announce that they are now live with the MCS Redeveloped Installer Scheme and open to new applicants. The redeveloped scheme reinforces the commitment to enhancing quality, consumer protection and robust certification standards across the small-scale renewable sector.

The redeveloped scheme will boost customer confidence while streamlining processes and simplifying requirements for installers. Moving away from administrative barriers while maintaining standards, the scheme provides an efficient, fair and quality-focused path to certification, compliance and consumer confidence. 

For businesses interested in joining the MCS Redeveloped Installer Scheme, Appendix A of the MCS Installer Operating Requirements identifies operating scenarios that reflect different levels of processes and controls. NAPIT has created the MCS Operating Scenario Calculator so installers can estimate which scenario may apply to their business. 

NAPIT will support its members to move onto the redeveloped scheme in a phased approach, with most installers moving over throughout 2026. Existing NAPIT Members will start to be transitioned over to the redeveloped installer scheme from mid-April onwards, as part of annual renewal and surveillance activities to get prepared view the MCS Moving over guide for MCS Installers.
