Following an audit of installations done under the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS), which provides grant funding of up to £350 towards the cost of installing Electric Vehicle (EV) charge points at domestic properties across the UK, the leading certification bodies for the electrical sector have come together to ensure lessons learn from the audit are used proactively to increase trust and confidence in the installation of EV charge points going forward.

This applies to new tenancies from the 1st July 2020, and existing tenancies from the 1st April 2021.

NAPIT launch guidance for members on the new Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector, England, which come into force on the 1st July 2020. The Regulations require private landlords to have every electrical installation in their residential premises inspected and tested at intervals of no more than 5 years by a qualified and competent person.
