The Low Temperature Hot Water Heating System course is a recommended pre-requisite qualification to allow progression onto Heat Pump training and assessment packages. The Design of Low Temperature Hot Water and Heating Systems is a fundamental part of not just Heat Pump installations but all heating installations in the UK.
The course is designed to provide knowledge required to design and install Low Temperature Domestic Hot Water Heating Systems that use Heat Pumps, as the heat source. All boilers are designed to work at low temperature. ~
This course covers theoretical training in the following areas:
- Domestic hot water cylinder sizing
- Pipe sizing
- Expansion vessel sizing
- Hydraulic separation
- Radiator sizing
- Heat losses
- Mass flow rate
- Valve sizing
- Thermal store/buffer tank sizing
The course is assessed by theory exams only.
Who can attend?
Handouts will be provided or the course however, you will be required to have your own copy of the CIBSE Domestic heating design guide 2021. This can be purchased at the centre.
