Description
This NVQ is the final step in your journey to becoming a qualified electrician. It provides the opportunity to showcase the skills and knowledge gained during your diploma training.
By completing this NVQ, including the AM2 assessment, you will gain recognition within the electrical industry as a fully qualified electrician, paving the way for registration with a Competent Person Scheme.
What will you learn on the course?
The 2357 is carried out at the candidate’s place of employment and assessed through a performance-based portfolio which assesses City & Guilds 2357 performance units. This involves the entire range of electrical installation work for the site-based portfolio and on-site assessment. (C&G 2357 units include 311-313, 315-318).
The process includes:
- Telephone induction with assessor
- Expand on C&G 2365 units 302, 303 and 305; prepare you for the Transfer of Knowledge from 2365 Bridging Assignment
- Health & safety legislation, planning & selection for the installation of electro-technical equipment and systems & fault finding
- Prepare you for Professional Discussion: a focus on what your responsibilities are towards your clients
- Portfolio completed with remote observations by your assessor
- Assessment and verification of portfolio
- On-going support and feedback from your assessor
PLEASE NOTE: to complete the qualification and successfully pass the AM2 (booked separately at an approved centre) as this unit 399 of the NVQ.
Who can attend?
This is the ideal course for those who have experience of the industry. Candidates will need City & Guilds 2365 Level 2 & Level 3 or EAL equivalent.
Employed in the electrical industry covering a range of installation work, eg, Commercial/Industrial three-phase installations.
Candidates can complete the NVQ at their own pace, as quick as 2 months to a maximum of 36 months.
