Electrical

Which Scheme is right for you?

If you are carrying out electrical work, the type of work you usually carry out will determine which schemes are relevant to you. Electrical work can fall under the Competent Person Scheme (CPS), which will allow you to self-certificate notifiable electrical installation work in dwellings under Part P of the Building Regulations for England and Wales.

Work within the commercial and industrial sectors, and Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR), fall under the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification (EAS). If the work you do relates to energy efficiency renewable technologies, it could also fall under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) or PAS Installer scheme.
