Electrician Qualification Pathways
Based on your answers, the pathway below sets out the required route to demonstrate technical competence so that you meet the qualification requirements to apply to join an Electrical Certification Scheme for domestic electrical work only.
Follow the arrows and complete each step in order. Each step is a prerequisite for the next, meaning you must complete them in sequence demonstrated, until you reach the AM2E assessment.
STEP 1 

Entry Test
The Entry Test assesses your underpinning electrotechnical knowledge. This determines if you are ready to progress onto the experienced worker qualification.This involves completing documentation, technical discussion before being submitted for the entry test.

STEP 2 

City & Guilds NVQ 2347 Experienced Worker Qualification
Here, your real-world experience is assessed. You’ll gather evidence from the work you already do to show you meet the required standard via a portfolio.STEP 3 

AM2E
The AM2E is the final practical assessment that tests your ability to install, test, and fault-find safely to industry standards and is recognised across the UK.STEP 4 

Apply for the Electrical Certification Scheme
Once you have successfully passed the AM2E, you will have met the technical qualification requirement to apply to join an Electrical Certification Scheme for domestic only.(Subject to meeting all other scheme entry requirements).
