Description
The heat pump installer course will demonstrate your ability to install and maintain Air and Ground source heat pump systems. The course is aimed at candidates with experience (5 years or more ) in plumbing or conventional heating engineering, an NVQ level 3 in plumbing, heating engineering or equivalent. It is also open to those in the process of gaining these qualifications.
The course is designed to provide practicing installers the skills and knowledge required to determine the most appropriate heat pump for an installation and , through consultation with the client about their needs and demands, install any of the common Air and Ground source Heat pumps in a safe and effective manner. The course is assessed via both practical and theory examinations.
What will I learn on this course?
This course covers (over 4 days) You will receive both practical and theoretical training in the following areas:
- Know the requirements to install, commission and hand over Air and Ground Source Heat Pump systems
- Install, commission and handover Air and Ground Source Heat pump systems
- Know the requirements to inspect, service and maintain Air and Ground Source Heat Pump systems
- Inspect, service and maintain Air and Ground Source Heat Pump system
Course Requirements
Pre-Requisites (Learners must hold):
- N/SVQ level 2/3 in plumbing or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
- N/SVQ level2/3 in heating and ventilation (Domestic Installation) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
- N/SVQ level2/3 in heating and ventilation (industrial and commercial) or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
- N/SVQ level2/3 in Oil Fired Technical Services or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence
- N/SVQ level2/3 in Gas installation and maintenance or equivalent earlier certification that provides evidence of competence; or Heating installers with minimum 3 years of experience installing wet central heating systems, evidence either by Manufacturer courses certification or Gas Safe register, OFTEC, MCS, HETAS
In addition, if not included in the above certification in relation to:
- WRAS water regulations Water byelaws or equivalent
Required Materials
Candidates must bring 2 x passport photos and proof of their course pre-requisites.
You will receive an BPEC Heat Pump Systems Manual included in the cost of the course.
