Description
Fire alarms and emergency lighting play an integral role in enhancing our safety. In the commercial sector, fire safety precautions are a legal requirement. The regulated Level 3 qualification covers the requirements of BS 5839-1, which include:
- Design, installation and commission of fire alarm systems
- The Emergency Lighting section of the course covers aspects of how to design, install, test and inspect your work gaining the vital knowledge that will help you ensure your work complies with this British Standard and you can operate as a Nominated Engineer
This first section of the programme will provide an understanding of the British Standard BS 5839-1 for these technologies, covering:
- Design considerations for fire detection and fire alarm systems for buildings
- Responsibility for the limitation of false alarms and unwanted fire alarm signals
- Installation of fire detection and fire alarm systems
- Commissioning and handover of fire detection and fire alarm systems
- Maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems
- User’s responsibilities of fire detection and fire alarm systems
