Description
This is a comprehensive course concentrating on the theory elements of Inspection and Testing.
The course is a combined version of the 2391-50 and 2391-51 and is for experienced electricians who are confident in conducting inspection and testing and wish to expand their knowledge and skill set and obtain an industry recognised award. The course is an industry recognised qualification with “open book” book assessments completed within the course timeframe. When achieved, the recognised qualification is one of the underpinning knowledge requirements for Competent Person Scheme membership/registration.
Standard Course Information
The 2391-52 standard course offers an in-depth examination of the theoretical and practical applications involved in conducting Initial Verification and Periodic Inspections of electrical installations.
It is designed to enhance candidates' understanding of these processes and ensure the correct methods and procedures are applied during on-site inspection and testing. Additionally, the course addresses the specific requirements for inspecting and testing older electrical installations.
Requirements for the inspection and testing of older electrical systems are included in the course content.
The main points covered would be:
- Safe Isolation
- Automatic Disconnection of Supply
- Earthing Systems
- Initial Verification
- Periodic Inspection and Testing
- Sequence of tests and testing methods
- Single and Three phase testing
- Theory principles
- Expected results by use of formulas
- Completion of documentation
- Observations and Coding
- Applying observations to BS 7671
- Practical Training
Over the 6 days course you will cover:
Day 1: Registration, theory training
Day 2: Theory training
Day 3: Theory training
Day 4: Practical training
Day 5: Theory and Written Assessments
Day 6: Half Day Practical Assessment (booked separately)
