Modern Slavery Statement
Introduction
This statement outlines the actions taken by NAPIT and its UK subsidiaries to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our operations and supply chains. It has been prepared in compliance with Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Our Commitment
Modern slavery and human trafficking remain serious global issues. At NAPIT, we recognise our responsibility to mitigate these risks and are committed to acting ethically, with integrity and transparency, in all our business dealings. We are dedicated to preventing slavery and human trafficking within our corporate and operational activities in the UK.
Our UK Structure
NAPIT operates in the Testing, Inspection, Certification, and Compliance sectors, employing managers, office staff, trainees and field officers.
Our Approach to Preventing Modern Slavery
We have implemented the following measures to prevent slavery and human trafficking within our UK operations and supply chains:
- Supply Chain Oversight – Our supplier approval process includes a review of each supplier’s controls to ensure there is no evidence of slavery or human trafficking. We build long-term relationships with suppliers, communicate our expectations, and conduct regular reviews. We do not engage with any business involved in slavery or human trafficking.
- Training & Awareness – Our UK leadership team is responsible for compliance within their respective business areas and supplier relationships. They have been made aware of this statement and provided with relevant training. Additionally, all UK employees receive an induction covering our policies, procedures, and ethical expectations.
- Recruitment & Employment Practices – We conduct rigorous checks on all new UK employees, including verifying their right to work, to prevent human trafficking or forced labour.
Whistleblowing Policy
Our whistleblowing policy allows employees and contractors to raise concerns about suspected malpractice or wrongdoing within NAPIT without fear of repercussions. Anyone with concerns about modern slavery can report them through our internal whistleblowing channels or externally via the Modern Slavery Helpline:
