NAPIT Supports Heat Pump Week 2025

Back to Article Listing

It is important that installers can contribute to the UK’s clean energy targets whilst maintaining safety and compliance. NAPIT offers training pathways to equip installers with the knowledge and skills needed to install and maintain low-carbon technologies, including heat pumps.

This Heat Pump Week, September 29th to October 4th, NAPIT highlights the importance of a sufficiently skilled workforce in the transition to Net Zero. The themes throughout Heat Pump Week 2025 include bridging the skills gap, inspiring the next generation and upskilling for the future of heating.

The demand for heat pumps is growing, and so is the need for qualified heat pump installers. This growth is an opportunity for installers to upskill and help lead towards a greener future.

Government incentives such as the Heat Training Grant will help equip installers with the skills to deliver low-carbon technology installations in homes. NAPIT have been delivering this to installers over the last 3 years and recently developed a partnership with Wolseley Renewables Centre.

NAPIT offer a Domestic Air Source Heat Pump course for installers with five years or more experience in plumbing or conventional heating engineering. This course is designed to give practising installers the skills and knowledge to choose the best Air Source Heat Pump for any installation.

NAPIT also offer more renewables training across our NAPIT Training centres. NAPIT members will play a crucial role in ensuring that there are competent and qualified installers to install heat pumps.

Heat pumps help improve air quality, reduce carbon emissions, and reduce energy bills. To ensure safety and compliance, homeowners should find a competent, registered, and qualified installer to fit their heat pump.

Consumers should check their eligibility for any available government grants, like the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, aimed at reducing the cost of installing a heat pump and verify that the installer is properly authorised to access any grant funding.

Property owners who want to have a heat pump installed can find a NAPIT-registered member who has the right training and certification to ensure a compliant install.

Head of Training, Brett Forster, said: “NAPIT is committed to supporting installers and consumers this Heat Pump Week. NAPIT Members should take advantage of training opportunities such as the Heat Training Grant and the increasing demand for heat pumps.

“To have a safe and secure installation, it is key that homeowners hire a certified and qualified installer. With a greater understanding of the benefits and opportunities of a heat pump, both installers and consumers can help accelerate towards a greener future.”
