NAPIT Reflects on 2025

Back to Article Listing

2025 has been a year focused on driving up competence, promoting safety standards, delivering high-quality training courses, providing continuing professional development (CPD) through technical webinars, and fundraising for Samaritans.

NAPIT Training offers courses to equip installers with the skills needed to install and maintain low-carbon technologies, including heat pumps, electric vehicle charge points, and Solar PV.  We have seen a growing interest in upskilling among our members, upskilling more than 1,300 candidates this year. It has been great to see this interest in installers expanding their skill set.

NAPIT Training remains committed to training members and installers to the highest standards. Most recently, launching a brand-new domestic ventilation course in partnership with Elmhurst Energy, offering professionals a valuable opportunity to future-proof their business and expand their services.

NAPIT host monthly Technical Webinars, providing members the chance to bolster their CPD with insights into key industry guidance and topics. Each webinar has a live Q&A opportunity to give members the chance to ask direct questions to the NAPIT technical experts. The NAPIT Webinars have had a 40% increase in viewers this year.

The most-watched webinar was Codebreakers: Coding Observations for Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) with 1,150 viewers, gaining expert insights into the complexities of coding observations in EICRs. Another popular webinar among NAPIT members saw insights into the latest industry regulations and compliance updates in the Private Rented Sector.

The NAPIT Technical Helpline continued to provide support and advice to members, offering direct access to Technical Officers who can respond to all technical queries. In 2025 alone, the helpline has handled more than 19,000 technical queries.

NAPIT kicked off 2025 with series two of the Watts Current Podcast. We explored the new MCS scheme, provided insights into NAPIT Technical Support, Renewables, and being a woman in a male-dominated industry, and welcomed some incredible guests.

Series three was launched in the Autumn, and the momentum continued with more guests and industry topics. Across 16 episodes, the Watts Current podcast had 15 guests and around 3000 listeners.

Some of our fantastic guests include the Director of Doncaster Cables, Aaron Walstow, Kelly and Carly from Electrical Contracting News, NAPIT Member Anne Greaves, Emma Dutton from SolaX Power, and Gareth Butler from Aico. The most popular among listeners was the two-part podcast featuring Gareth Yeomans from Sync Energy.

The podcast has provided a great platform for conversations surrounding mental health with hosts Steve Humphreys and Andrew Duffen shared their own experiences and reinforcing the message that it is OK not to be OK. During Men’s Mental Health Month in November, listeners heard meaningful stories from Simon Mayo from Men’s Suicide Prevention Charity ANDYSMANCLUB, and NAPIT Member Chris Edrige, encouraging men to open up and reminding them they are not alone.

Building on this commitment to mental health, NAPIT has been dedicated to fundraising for Samaritans. Samaritans offer emotional support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to anyone who is in distress, lonely, struggling to cope, or feeling suicidal. Key fundraisers include the NAPIT Annual Sponsored Walk, bringing together NAPIT staff who collectively walked 22 miles on the Bolsover Loop. The team walked a combined 418 miles, which is 25% more miles than last year's challenge, walking 16 miles around the Ladybower Reservoir.

Through bake sales, raffles, sponsored walks and themed events, NAPIT have raised over £7,000. NAPIT staff look forward to continuing to share our fundraising efforts in 2026, as we will be fundraising for Ashgate Hospice.
