NAPIT Celebrates International Women in Engineering Day 2025
23 June 2025

June 23rd marks International Women in Engineering Day, and this year’s theme is Together We Engineer. International Women in Engineering Day gives women engineers around the world a profile when they are still hugely underrepresented.
It plays a crucial role in sharing learning experiences and celebrating women’s success stories. These events inspire and empower women and young girls to pursue careers in engineering, creating a more inclusive and diverse industry.
NAPIT is proud to celebrate our talented female engineers, both among NAPIT members and our dedicated staff.
Tendai, Electrical Training Lecturer at NAPIT, advised other women who are considering a career in the industry, saying, “Focus on your goals and do everything to the best of your ability. Keep learning and improving yourself.
“As women, we often face higher expectations, with people wondering, ‘Can she do it?’ But don’t let that deter you, stay focused on what you want, be true to yourself, and enjoy what you do.”
NAPIT Member Anne, Girl Power Electrical, encourages young girls not to doubt themselves when stepping into the industry.
She said: “If you wait until you feel confident and ready, then you will probably never do it. A lot of days, I wake up and have impostor syndrome.
“I think if you wait and think someone is better than you, or maybe think ‘I am not smart enough’, strong enough, or maybe the time is not right – just do it now!”
Sarah Lowe, NAPIT Finance & Operations Director, said: “By sharing their experiences, women in STEM can inspire the next generation and help build a more inclusive industry. Representation matters — seeing women succeed as engineers and electricians encourages girls to follow in their footsteps.
“At NAPIT, we are proud to celebrate the incredible work being done by women engineers within our organisation and across the globe.”
