A team of enthusiastic employees from NAPIT, led a successful sponsored walk on the newly waymarked Bolsover Loop on Friday, May 23. The sponsored walk raised money for mental health charity Samaritans, while celebrating the opening of the newly waymarked route through the stunning Bolsover countryside.

NAPIT welcomes the introduction of new legislation in Northern Ireland making electrical safety checks a legal requirement for landlords of properties let under private tenancies. The Electrical Safety Standards for Private Tenancies Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2024 will come into force from April 1, 2025.

NAPIT are pleased to support the Heat Pump Association (HPA) in producing guidance for heat pump installers on residual current device (RCD) selection. The guidance, published today (March 31st), focuses on domestic heat pump installations.

NAPIT has welcomed plans calling for changes to the law so that tool thieves face tougher sentences reflecting the full impact of their crimes. Amanda Martin, MP for Portsmouth North, and the sister of an electrician, has tabled the Tools of Trade Theft (Sentencing) Bill, which will have its second reading in Parliament on 25 April.
