NAPIT EXPRESS DISAPPOINTMENT AT THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY EXCLUSION

NAPIT have expressed disappointment that the Construction Industry have not been included in the recently formed advisory panel covering access to professions for the Governments ‘New Opportunities’ white paper.
John Andrews, the Chief Executive of the NAPIT Group stated “Once again the government has shown their almost total ignorance of the importance of the Construction Industry in our economy and the quality of professional engineers that the UK produces”
Andrews went on to say “The Construction Industry produce almost 10% of the United Kingdoms Gross Domestic Product and employs over 1,250,000 tradesmen and women and professional engineers, it is disgraceful that this wealth creating sector is sidelined in this way and I have written to the Cabinet Office minister Liam Byrne to express my disappointment that our sector have not been asked to contribute to the work of the panel”
