NAPIT EXTEND CONGRATUALTIONS TO CAPITA AS THEY ARE NAMED PREFERRED PARTNER FOR HSE GAS REGISTRATION

Following the announcement from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE) that they have selected Capita as the preferred partner to operate a new Gas Installer Scheme across the Britain, Chief Executive of NAPIT, John Andrews, extends his best wishes and congratulations.

The contract expected to be valued at approximately £14 million was previously owned by Corgi.

John Andrews, Chief Executive of NAPIT, says: “I offer my sincere congratulations to Capita for their success and also to the HSE for their honest and courageous decision. Looking forward to the future I’m sure Capita will be innovative and will implement much needed changes within the industry. I look forward to seeing the improvements for the Industry, consumers and last but not least for the registered installers
Whilst this may not be the news they wish to hear, at last the Corgi staff, who have had their careers and prospects on hold for over a year now know where they stand”

Detailed contractual negotiations are now underway, with around 250 Corgi employees expected to be subject to a TUPE transfer to the new Capita Gas Installation Scheme which is due to start 1st April 2009.
