Charges & Work Notifications
All electrical work covered under Part P of the Building Regulations must be notified to the local authority. NAPIT offers 3 ways for members to notify their work easily - either online or by fax or post. In September Part P notifications may also be submitted using NAPIT Mobile, a Pocket PC with software exclusive to NAPIT members.

Using the online method is simpler and more user friendly as you can add, delete and edit your information and build up your own history of jobs which you can access in the future.
The cost is £1.50 for each notification which includes the cost of us sending a certificate of compliance to the home owner, plus £0.70 to cover an insurance backed warranty for your customer, which comes to a total of £2.20 + vat per notification. You can still fax notifications to NAPIT on 0870 444 1427, or post to us. The cost of handling these notifications is more, but we have kept it to a minimum at £3.00 and £0.70 for the insurance (£3.70 + vat).
Once NAPIT receives the details, we notify your Local Authority Building Control of the work done. We also take care of issuing the householder with the necessary certificate to say the work done complies with Building Regulations. This will become even more important when Home Information Packs are introduced in June 2007.
